L A Care has a large team of highly adept, well trained, passionate professionals who share the same beliefs and values and are entirely invested with making a real change to the health and social care sector.
Our dedicated team have robust training and complete an in depth induction process. These are initial requirements plus ongoing mandatory and optional training. We strive to create a positive working environment so that our team continue to deliver the best home care possible.
Leah Atherton
Director Registered Manager
Leah has over 15 years of experience in the care sector, progressing from Care Practitioner to senior leadership before becoming Director and Registered Manager of L A Care. Alongside completing her professional qualifications, she has also worked as a business consultant and NVQ Assessor, giving her a broad range of skills and expertise.
Leah is passionate about ensuring every client receives exceptional, person-centred care tailored to their individual needs. Equally important to her is creating a workplace where the care team feels valued, supported, listened to and respected, believing that a happy team delivers the very best care.
Outside of work, Leah enjoys the rewarding balance of family life as a working mum. A self-confessed coffee enthusiast, she loves nothing more than spending time outdoors on long walks in the sunshine.
Alice Alder
Director Operations Director
Alice has over 15 years of experience in the care sector, beginning her career in domiciliary care before helping to open a new care home and supporting adults with disabilities. She joined Sarah's Carers in 2015 as a Care Practitioner, progressing to Care Manager before co-purchasing the Oxfordshire branch to create L A Care.
Quality is at the heart of everything Alice does, and her attention to detail and high standards are reflected throughout the service. She is passionate about delivering exceptional care, not only for clients but also for the care team she leads.
Outside of work, Alice enjoys long walks with her dog, wild swimming, camping, and spending time with family and friends. One of her favourite adventures was travelling around New Zealand.
Bev Matthews
Care Service Lead
Bev is a true people person, making her a perfect fit for her role as Care Service Lead. She is passionate about delivering outstanding care and loves building meaningful relationships with clients and their families.
With a varied background, including seven years as a Rehabilitation Assistant in a community hospital and eight years as a Support Officer, Bev brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. She is dedicated to helping clients and their families navigate the support available to them, ensuring they receive the right guidance at the right time.
Known for her warm personality, Bev can often be found singing and dancing with clients, bringing laughter, encouragement and a little light exercise into their day.
One thing on Bev's bucket list... she'd love to go cage diving with great white sharks!
